Bug#1091672: gdm3 47.0-3 password field greyed out

Package: gdm3
Version: 47.0-3
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
probably since gdm3 was upgraded to v47, when trying to log in, the password
field often is just greyed out leaving only fingerprint login available. But
using fingerprint login isn't desirable as that won't unlock the Gnome keyring,
so the password still has to be entered. Usually it helps going back to the
user selection and seleting the user again, but sometimes this needs to be done
multiple times until the password field allows for input. The only alternative
is to wait for fingerprint authentication to time out, which isn't ideal
either.
Here's an image showing how the lockscreen looks in this stage (as I'm not
certain it's the best behavior to just attach the image to this email):

Sadly it's difficult to find any logs about this issue. From journalctl I can
see this line that may be related:
gdm-fingerprint][40550]: gkr-pam: no password is available for use
Seting "Enable=true" in /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf under [debug] does show more output in the journal, but it's a lot more, so I don't know what of it would actually be relevant.
Other than that, I don't find any logs. /var/log/gdm3 is just empty. If I can
help provide any further information, please let me know how.
