Package: gdm3
Version: 43.0-3
Severity: critical
Bug Description:
I have a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD that is new. I softed it with Debian 12.5.
When my machine is not used for several hours, it seems that OS puts this SSD to sleep.
This creates disk access error problems (see screenshot attached) and crash system.
We are forced to reboot the PC hoping not to suffer data loss.
This affects systems with Gnome + gdm3 installed. It seems that systems with KDE are also affected.
An installation with Cinnamon that does not use gdm3 but lightdm is not impacted by the problem
This article allows you to fix the problem effectively and simply:
http://www.studios-75.fr/base-de-connaissances/informatique/systeme/linux/debian/desactiver-la-mise-en-veille-de-debian-en-ligne-de-commande/
Edit:
/etc/gdm3/greeter.dconf-defaults
Uncomment the following line if you are on the mains (remove the # in front):
sleep-inactive-ac-type
and indicate the value "nothing" or "blank"
sleep-inactive-ac-type='nothing'
This is a serious priority bug that should be resolved urgently !!
Thanks in advance for trying to fix this in Debian.
Best regards.
