Package: gnome-terminal
Version: 3.46.8-1
Severity: normal
* What led up to the situation?
I have installed the "Bedstead" family of fonts from
https://bjh21.me.uk/bedstead/ in the ".fonts" directory under my home
directory. I'd like to use "Bedstead Condensed" in my terminals.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I followed the instructions in "Change font and style" in the help. I
clicked on the "hamburger" button in the GNOME Terminal title bar and
chose "Preferences". I turned on "Custom font" and click the button next
to it. The list includes "Bedstead", but not any of the different widths
of Bedstead. If I choose "Bedstead", there is no option to choose a
different width.
* What was the outcome of this action?
I couldn't find any way to select Bedstead Condensed in the "Preferences"
dialogue box. If I just select "Bedstead", I get the normal-width
version.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected that either "Bedstead Condensed" would be in the list of fonts
to choose from, or there would be an option to choose a width after
selecting "Bedstead".
I would have reported this using a font family that's in Debian, but it
turns out that all the condensed monospaced fonts in Debian are broken in
other ways.
