The latest tagged upstream version v63 is compatible with gnome-shell
47 (running it on my machine as we speak). The linked PR is no longer
relevant, but it is still open upstream.

FYI: When updating the upstream sources, the dependency on gnome-shell
(<< 47~) will also need to be bumped to match metadata.json in the
upstream release.
