Its definitely good to keep this report active under gnome-calculator, 
since the depency to libsoup3 is untracable for an ordinary user.

However, I'm looking for advice if there are any actions required for 
users who *do* have implemented the workaround to fix the problem and 
then later upgraded to one of the Debian versions that have this 
(secondary) bug fixed.

Since you mentioned that that above mentioned workaround effectively 
disables the automatic currency exchange rate downloads, what would be 
the measure to restore the intended default behaviour of gome-calculator 
to automatically fetch the current currency exchange rates?

E.g. I suffered the bug, implemented the workaround and then upgrading 
to Debian 12.12 or 13.0. What to do to restore original behaviour?
