Bug#1121908: papers: hang attempting to print PDF

Package: papers
Version: 49.1-1
Severity: normal
N.B. This is probably not a bug in Papers since it happens with Evince
as well, but I don't know how to identify the correct component to
file the bug against, but it manifests in Papers so I am hoping that
the Papers developers can either reassign as needed to solicit
whatever debugging info from me is needed to determine where the bug
needs to go.
Some time within the past few days, something I updated (I update
regularly from Testing) has broken printing from the GNOME system
dialog. Whenever I attempt to do so from any app -- I've tried Papers
Evince, and Firefox -- the app hangs and I get the '"<App>" is not
Responding' pop-up with "Force Quit" and "Wait" buttons.
As I said above, this is probably a bug in CUPS or a GNOME library or
something rather than a bug in Papers, but I don't know how to isolate
the root cause. I can, however, tell you this:
* I am able to print from the command line with `lp`.
* I am able to open the Printers page in the settings app and view
printer details and options.
I am happy to fetch whatever logs or run whatever tests you need to
help isolate this.
