Bug#1055810: problem disappeard

I tried again after a long time inactivity. The program first started with
inability to use the camera, but allowed me to click on the menu icon and
get into the settings. In the settings I could choose the correct camera
(normal instead of infrared) and exit with saving the changes.

I don't know what happened that it allowed me to do this.

Cheese version still the same.
But I had OS upgrades and one time I upgraded all firmware of my Lenovo
notebook, too, so everything is up to date. The upgrades might do this
maybe? No idea...
If you have the same problem, try to upgrade firmwares and do OS upgrade.
My debian version is 12.9.
