Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: vino at packages.debian.org
User: ftp.debian.org at packages.debian.org
Usertags: remove
Control: affects -1 src:vino

vino was archived upstream several years ago which means that
bug fixes, bug reports, and translations are no longer accepted.
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/vino

vino was created for GNOME but GNOME can't use it any more because
vino doesn't support Wayland. GNOME uses gnome-remote-desktop instead
now.

vino is a remote desktop (VNC) server so the idea of it not having any
security support upstream is concerning. In fact, Ubuntu applies
security patches to its version of vino to patch embedded code copies
but this wasn't copied into Debian:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vino/3.22.0-7ubuntu1

Therefore, please remove vino from Debian. As of today, it has no
remaining reverse depends or recommends in Debian.

On behalf of the Debian GNOME team,
Jeremy Bicha
