Package: nautilus
Version: 43.2-1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: cg1252 at hotmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

When initiating nautilus from a remote system there are significant response
delays and fails to provide basic funcionality. The following steps illistrates how to reproduce the issue (see description underneath the steps):

  1 [batchusr at cgalmalinux8a]:/tmp ssh -X cgdebian12a

% in a terminal session on a remote host running a graphical envionment,
% initiate ssh -X <debian 12.9 host>

% in this case a gnome-terminal session on host cgalmalinux8a that is
% running a wayland gnome graphical environment initiates
% "ssh -X cgdebian12a"

  2 Linux cgdebian12a 6.1.0-31-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.128-1 (2025-02-07) x86_64

% lines 2-10 confirm establising a ssh connection on host cgdebian12a
% which is a debian 12.9 host. For reference,
% "apt-get task-gnome-desktop" was used to establish the gnome environment
% which includes nautilus on host cgdebian12a.

11 [batchusr at cgdebian12a]:/home/batchusr date; nautilus --version; date

% on one command line in the ssh -X cgdebian12a session, initiate 3 programs:
% date; nautilus --version; date

% line 12 is the ouput of the first "date" command
% line 13 is a message emitted imediately from the invocation of "nautilus"
% line 14 is a warning message emitted from the invocation of "nautilus"
% line 15 is the requested "nautilus" version
% line 17 appears to be a crital error message
% line 18 is the output of the second "date" command

% the timestamp prior to the invocation of "nautilus --version" and the
% timestamp after the invocation of "nautilus --version" show an elapsed
% time of 52 seconds which is too long and simplistically illistrates
% the issue. Though not obvious, the time lag occured between
% steps 14 and 15.

 19 [batchusr at cgdebian12a]:/home/batchusr

The intended "ssh -X cgdebian12a nautilus" invocation in either a
wayland or X11 gnome environment results in the following:

1 notable response lag times throughout
2 the "nautilus" window does appear
3 the window indicator in the lower right corner indicates loading
    with the circular indicator sputtering
4 loading never completes and canceling the operation results in a
    "Folder is Empty" result
