Source: gnome-applets
Version: 3.54.0-1
Severity: important
Justification: feature-set will unexpectedly change if binNMU'd
Control: affects 1098537 + src:gnome-applets
X-Debbugs-Cc: tinysparql at packages.debian.org
As a result of missing -dev dependencies in tinysparql (#1098537), if the
current version of gnome-applets in unstable was rebuilt today, it would
fail to detect Tracker development files and therefore disable the
tracker-search-bar applet. I don't know how serious a problem the maintainer
considers this to be, please adjust severity up or down as appropriate.
If desired, gnome-applets could work around this by build-depending on both
libtracker-sparql-3.0-dev and libtinysparql-dev for now.
I'm hoping that after resolving #1098537 (which is under discussion,
see https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/tinysparql/-/merge_requests/13),
gnome-applets will go back to only needing a B-D on libtracker-sparql-3.0-dev,
and deterministically enabling the tracker-search-bar applet as a result.
