I've uploaded a version of mutter that includes !4321 (only to 
experimental for now) so that people experiencing this issue can see 
whether it helps. We can reopen the bug if it turns out not to be 
helpful, or if there's some reason why it needs to be reverted.

(Hopefully this will get some review upstream next week.)
