Thank you for your attention to detail.
dpkg-checkbuilddeps is more picky than apt and dose. When it encounters
a :native dependency, it rejects M-A:foreign packages. I consider this a
bug, but it is present behavior. Therefore, the dconf-cli being
annotated rendered gdm3 to FTBFS until Simon fixed it.
