Dear Maintainer,

    * What led up to the situation?

If you're referring to a message ID from within the Evolution or from the
command line, you can't search for it.

In other words:

UI search for mid:"foobar12345 at example.com" is failing.

Furthermore, if you're using Evolution from 3rd party products and you're trying
to open a particular email via 'evolution "mid:foobar12345 at example.com"' this
fails as well.

This bug was fixed upstream already: [1]

Since I consider searching for a Message ID as a very fundamental part of a mail
client, I would like to suggest to include the small upstream fix from [1] to
Debian 13 Trixie as well.

The commit that fixes the issue is [2]
