Problems with PTYXIS behavior

I use Cinnamon Desktop in Gentoo so I am not strictly speaking a Debian
user or a Gnome user. I recently unmerged, terminated with extreme
prejudice my gnome-terminal because from a certain point on the only way to
open a new tab was with a hot key. I delete all (repeat *ALL*) hotkeys
associated with both my desktop env and my termin al emulators. Gnomes
behavior here is unacceptable. THIS is how "uppity" I can get :)
My problem with ptyxis... Every single application running inside my chosen
desktop environment is controlled by that DE. Its window placement, its
window theme, its window behavior. Ptyxis has hijacked that authority and
behaves in an inconsistent manner.
Specifically if I point my mouse at any applications title bar and mouse
wheel up, the desktop environment shades that window. If I double click in
that title bar the same action occurs. This is a universal behavior that I
have set. MY preferences.
Ptyxis otoh does nothing in both cases. It does not honor the well
established pecking order and has placed itself in charge of itself. This
is incorrect behavior and it interrupts and interferes with the workflow I
have used for many years in Linux.
Please make ptyxis honor the user defined preferences within the user
chosen DE.
