I can't reproduce this under GNOME, so there must be something specific 
to the systems where this was seen that is causing this crash. What we 
know so far is:

* labwc: applications crash
* openbox: no crash

Please try to get a backtrace from one of the crashing applications (it 
probably doesn't matter which one, so choose one that is as simple as 
possible). See: https://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace

The same questions:

* Can you get a backtrace from this crash? If you can, the backtrace
   will be the most useful piece of information you can provide.
* What desktop environment are you using?
* What graphics card do you have?
* Is there anything else we should know about your system?
