If you can try the test package from 
<https://people.debian.org/~smcv/temp/2025/13.3/48.6/> (just the 
gnome-shell parts, ignore the mutter packages) then that would already 
narrow it down a bit, by telling us whether this was a regression 
between 48.4 and 48.6, or between 48.6 and 48.7.
