Hi,
I can confirm the same behaviour in sway. This is likely because the
application is using the GNOME background protocol and not checking if
the current desktop is not GNOME. This could be fixed easily by checking
the XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP env variable.
Please open an issue upstream about this, at
gitlab.gnome.org/world/shortwave.
