Package: papers
Version: 49.3-1
Severity: normal

After a recent upgrade, thumbails for pdf files no longer appear in the
nautilus window.
After cleaning the ~/.cache/thumbnails/ I can see that the
fail/gnome-thumbnail-factory/ is populated with new items (but I cannot
be sure that this is related to the papers-thumbnailer process).
I tried to manually execute the thumbailer (using also strace to
understand what went wrong).
The thumbnailer reads the pdf file and fails on the system call:
openat(AT_FDCWD, ".cache/thumbnails/large/foo.png",
O_WRONLY|O_CREAT|O_TRUNC|O_CLOEXEC, 0666) = -1 EACCES
that cooresponds to opening the output file.
The program returns a non-null value indicating an error.
I am available for providing additional info on the problem.
