Sorry I was stupid to report a bug prior checking esd, alsa dmix, libesd0 vs. libesd-alsa0 and flashplayer-mozilla details.

The only thing I had to do is to replace the package libesd0 with libesd-alsa0 and everything is working fine! Now I got Gnome system sounds through esd and have sound from flashplayer-mozilla in the same time!
> Thanks for the fast relpy Josselin!
>
> For me there is no sound for flash and no sound for applets until I
> kill esd.

Then all you need is to deactivate esd in the sound configuration
capplet.

Cheers,
Date: Sat, 14 Jun 2008 16:49:04 +0200
Subject: epiphany-browser no sound with esd
Package: epiphany-browser
Version: 2.14.3-7

It seems that the epiphany browser always tries to use the sound device directly regardless of whether a sound daemon is used or not.
In Gnome this results that the browser can't produce sounds because of the esd which hogs the soud device.

It would be great if you could make the epiphany browser to check for a sound daemon and use the sound daemon if appropriate!

I am using Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 r3 Etch.

Thanks in advance!
Imre
