SciTech 2011: Innovation UK
26 October 2011, the Barbican, London

The UK has a rich history of innovation and scientific excellence. However we have often struggled to take full advantage of innovative ideas and the knowledge that such research generates. We must get better at taking innovation into the marketplace as UK science can underpin economic growth. How can we increase R&D investment and promote greater collaboration and knowledge transfer? Given the financial challenges facing many institutions how do can we get more for less from our research base? Are we about to fall behind our global competitors or are there new opportunities to turn science into commerce?

At our 4th Annual SciTech: Innovation UK conference, we will be discussing how Britain can develop new technologies, nurture creativity and encourage world-beating products. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders, funding agencies & leading figures in science, engineering and technology. The conference will outline how UK science and research can strive for excellence and be at the frontier of research and economic growth. Delegates will have an opputunity to discover the latest - and some of the most successful - science, engineering and technology projects and equipment being developed in the UK at the moment.

You Can Read More about the Event Online

Register to Attend Online Here using Marketing Code SYS4

Please note: This year we have introduced a discount for three or more delegates attending the event from the same organisation, details can be found on our website

Speakers include:
Chair, Jheni Osman, Editor, BBC Focus Science and Technology Magazine
Keynote Address, Rt Hon David Willets MP (invited), Minister of State for Universities and Science
Catherine Coates, Business Innovation Director, The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC)
Dr Malcolm Parry OBE, Chairman of The United Kingdom Science Park Association and MD of Surrey Research Park
Professor Steve Caddick, Vice-Provost (Enterprise), University College London
Andrew Miller MP, Chair, Science and Technology Select Committee
Dai Hudd, Deputy General Secretary, Prospect

Programme can be found Online Here

Places are limited to 250 and are awarded on a first come, first served basis

If you are unable to attend, please feel free to forward details of this event to a colleague.

If you wish to register your interest in exhibiting or delivering a workshop, you can submit your contact details Online Here, and one of our advisors will be in touch shortly.

If any of the links in this email are inactive, please paste the URL below into your web browser:
http://www.publicserviceevents.co.uk/172/scitech-2011

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Add @ps-event.org.uk to your safe senders list

Christopher Sheridan
Marketing Executive
csheridan@ps-event.org.uk

PS Events
City Wharf
New Bailey Street
Manchester, M3 5ER

Tel: 0161 831 7111
Fax: 0161 832 7396

Registered in England
Co.
