The mail-address check is not fully RFC compliant, but you might use
--allow-freeform-uid to add your UID. A similar report had been reported
in the past: http://bugs.debian.org/196681.

I will forward the problem to upstream, but because there is a
workaround, expect that I close your report if upstream refuses to "fix"
the mail-address check.
