No problem.  It actually shows the need for a encryption only tool much
like we use gpgv of verification only.  It would for example also be
helpful for creating backups - such a tool could be optimized for bulk
data encryption.  Something like

  tar cf -  WHATEVER | gpge KEYFILE >/dev/backup
