Package: gnupg2
Version: 2.1
Severity: wishlist
There are lots of apps that build and manage a Debian chroot on
alternate platforms, for exmaple:
* Lil' Debi on Android
* crouton on ChromeOS
* linuxdeploy on Android
These all use debootstrap and cdebootstrap, but none of them include
gpgv in order to verify the signatures. I propose to add a gpgv-static
package that is a fully statically linked version of gpgv so that these
kinds of programs can easily use those binaries on various Linux-based
OSes like Android and ChromeOS. This is like cdebootstrap-static,
bash-static, etc.
I'm sitting here at the Reproducible Builds summit with dkg and we
hashed out this idea here.
