Ouch!  This also renders the graphical pinentry packages unusable in the
scenario where $DISPLAY is unset (or where their respective toolkits
fail to be initialized).

Thanks for catching this, carnil.  0.9.3-2 should be on its way to the
buildd's now, fixing the bug.
