there are issues that are solved by renaming tags, especially if you're
using git-buildpackage.  and the last line in your e-mail specifically
called out the missing tag, so i was trying to make sure that problem is
taken care of.  thanks for the feedback, i've re-opened this bug report.

What version of automake do you have on your system?  Is it possible
that you have an older version of automake installed?

    ls -la  $(readlink -f $(which automake))
