I haven't heard any negative feedback about this proposal yet, and i
haven't come up with anything better, so i plan to go ahead and try to
implement the proposal in experimental to try to get concrete feedback.

If there are any concerns based on the outline alone, now's a great time
to raise them.

Of course, I remain happy to see feedback from people who have tried
installing the packages once they've landed in experimental too.  Please
let me know if you have any thoughts.
