No, I don't have any experience using encrypted disk for root partition,
not yet.

... while I use g13 tool for:

    an encrypted partition of my Maildir
    external removable disk like USB memory or SD card

I'll try, because it would be an important regression for 2.1 if user
can't use encrypted root partition with GnuPG.
