It is, in fact, I think, quite difficult to do. Not impossible, but
really difficult.

We're basically trying to fit together two filesystem standards that
have different designs and goals. That's not going to be easy.

I'm seeing some solutions we could work out:

      * Try to figure out some way to exempt GNUstep from the FHS rules
in Debian. I don't think that'll be easy, though, and it seems
like debian-devel is a pretty anti-GNUstep milieu right now, for
        some kinda unfathomable reasons.
      * Try to figure out somewhere else in the FHS that we can put an
entire GNUstep tree. I don't think there are any good spots,
        though (/var/lib/ ?)
      * Work with Debian and the GNUstep developers to get some kind of
customized make to move things to the right places and make
        symlinks somewhere else.
      * Get some kind of post-sarge delay. What, though, I dunno.
      * Work real hard to get stuff in the right places. That's going to
        be real hard, though.

I think maybe we need to get some help from GNUstep folks doing packages
for other Linux systems, as well as from other Debian maintainers who've
had to split up a big, monolithic tree into FHS directories.
