I installed it, and although I get the same "guessing offsets"
messages, the cairo backend works fine for me (800x600 here).
(There's something weird going on -- all windows get maximized
automatically. Perhaps that is a feature of xmonad, I don't know. I
haven't configured anything specially.)
I'm going to forward this issue upstream.
