In that machine all seems to be fine, the controls change very quickly.
However, in another machine I'm having problems, after running
VolumeControl all the sliders are set at the lowest value and when I try to
modify the Vol I get the error "It looks like the sound card does not have
this type of control." (screenshot attached). The cards present are

  00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High
Definition Audio Controller (rev 04)

  00:03.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core
Processor HD Audio Controller (rev 06)

and this happens selecting both of them from alsamixer.
