I'm afraid I can't reproduce this with your locale on wheezy and
jessie. Could you please install libgnustep-base1.22-dbg and post the
backtrace here (if it dies with NSException you can put a breakpoint
at `raise').

It doesn't seem like the same problem. I suspect it is due to some
oddity in your configuration/installation. Does it happen if you move
~/GNUstep elsewhere temporarily?
