[Debian GNUstep maintainers] oolite nearing to removal from the archive

It looks like the GNUstep packages will decrease as Oolite is likely
to be removed in the near future. That would be a pity, since this is
a very popular game. Please take a look at #863788. The bug was
closed upstream as "won't fix".

How can we help? Provided that I find the time to port to mozjs52
(although it's not only time that I'm lacking but C++ skills) and the
maintainer rejects the patch because it won't me merged upstream, can
we take the package under the pkg-gnustep umbrella? And do a good job
maintaining it?

It's going to be a giant patch that has to be adapted with every new
upstream release and every time when mozjs break the API. And they
tend to do that fairly often -- I used to maintain a browser once
(kazehakase) and it was nightmare, I had spent more time dealing with
its issues compared to all of the GNUstep packages combined. It's not
only the package that has to be ported, it has to work with the OXP
packs that are available, at least the supported/popular ones.

Other options that I haven't explored are switching to other (pure C)
JavaScript engines like WebKitGTK+ or ducktape.

Eric, Gürkan, what do you think? Do you know C++ and/or the mozjs API?
