Done.  I had to change this config on the server

       denyNonFastforwards = false

because push was rejected even with --force.  I've set it back to
"true" afterwards.

I've made the commit to debian/rules fixing the bug, picking exactly
the same change from your commit, so that there are no conflicts when
we merge it into the experimental branch.  I've built the package in a
chroot and verified that gnustep-gui-runtime does not depend on
gnustep-back and that the library's shlibs are correct.

Are you going to upload?  This change is 100% yours.
(I can do it if you're busy but I'll have to file an RFS bug.)
