Thanks for the report but unfortunately we can't package it as the
current version sorts as higher:

$ dpkg --compare-versions 1.1.0-1 gt 1.06.dfsg-9 || echo false
false

That "." before "dfsg" doesn't help (it really should have been a "+")
but even without it the result is the same.  I'm afraid I'll have to
kindly ask upstream to label the next release as "1.7.0" or something
greater.

There's always the option to introduce an epoch but that should be
avoided (as it'll stay forever) and it requires an extra step to write
to debian-devel for approval...
