Honestly, I don't know.  Maybe I'm the only user, who knows?  Anyway, I
think most people create a package because they need it, not necessarily
because there's a large user base.  I also think that people would often
refrain from using software that they can't just "apt-get install".  I
don't think "rdepends" is also a good metric because there may be
non-packaged software built using the packages.  So I don't know whether
self-censorship makes sense here.

Actually, I needed this package to make reproducible builds for Maemo,
and was hoping I could use it also on my desktop machines.

The risk taken in integrating it is cases of build or test suite
failures on some platforms (hopefully, PPC, SPARC and x86, at least,
should not have any problems).  It's up to you to decide whether you're
ready to take that risk, for little in return beside my gratification.
