Hello,

I used to package the C++ wrapper for Debian from version 1.5.1 until
the next soname bump. I dropped it in 2.1.6 with this changelog entry:

 * Stop building and shipping the C++ library, since nobody is using it. I
    will happly re-add it if requested.

If you think it is useful I can re-introduce it.
