Since this problem started when I upgraded some packages which rebuilt
initramfs I did the following:
swatantra:/home/vincent# update-initramfs -d -k 2.6.32-5-amd64
update-initramfs: Deleting /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-5-amd64
swatantra:/home/vincent# update-initramfs -c -k 2.6.32-5-amd64
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-5-amd64

Which file is being read which has the above symbol in line 33?
