I tried with pbuilder and sbuild on DebOMatic
http://debomatic-amd64.debian.net/distribution#unstable/gnutls28/3.3.19-1/buildlog

I also did some test with parallel=32, but I always succeeded.

So can it be something hw related?

Maybe the computer workload, or something more deep in the hw itself.
this would explain why I never had this issue, and also why changing the build machine
made it build correctly.

Just trying to help, I hope my guesses are not too much stupid :)
