It seems so, if we want to run tests... I had to change previous approach to 
run tests ("./test") because it was failing and also because it was limited 
to run on amd64 only...

What's your concerns about tests? If they are running too slow you can always 
use DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="nocheck". Would you prefer not to run tests for 
whatever reason? In the current state some tests are always failing -- 
perhaps if we identify and disable unreliable ones we could stop ignoring 
failures. For now at least we will have logs to see which tests are 
failing...
