I'm well aware of that but I still don't understand why did you mention it?
Why do you like "~dfsg" more than "+dfsg"?

Noted. :)
However maintaining this distinction and changing "ds" to "dfsg" (and vice 
versa) as per upstream changes is a maintenance burden. I'd rather leave a 
note for you in "README.source" or in "copyright".
