I just installed golang-1.8-go to my Ubuntu 17.04 and noticed that I don't
have go in PATH:
$ apt-cache policy golang-1.8-go
golang-1.8-go:
Installed: 1.8.1-1ubuntu1
Candidate: 1.8.1-1ubuntu1
Version table:
*** 1.8.1-1ubuntu1 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
$ apt-cache policy golang-1.8
golang-1.8:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 1.8.1-1ubuntu1
Version table:
1.8.1-1ubuntu1 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/universe amd64 Packages
$ type go
bash: type: go: not found
Does Debian have such arrangement as well (no Go executables in PATH)
having installed a (minimum) golang-1.x-go package?
Thanks
Tong
