Package: lintian
Severity: wishlist
thanks

After a quick chat on IRC, zhsj noted that the issue in #871448 is
present because the uploader didn't use uscan to download the
orig.tar.gz, which means that the Files-Excluded line was never used,
and Excluded files were present in the orig.tar.gz.

It'd be super snazzy if lintian were to throw an error if any of the
Files-Excluded globs hit a file in the orig.tar.gz, with a severity of
error. Hopefully this would have alerted the uploader, and caused them
to re-download the tarball.

Thanks for working on Lintian!
  Paul
