FWIW, Steve is right that these tests only pass on 64 bit little-endian
platforms but it turns out that this is because they hard code socket
ancillary data which is host endian/int size dependent. Upstream now skips
these tests on !amd64 so an upstream update would get that. The package is
like 15 upstream releases old now though and I lack the courage to figure
out the reverse build dep chain.
