[DebianGIS-dev] Postgis on debian

Hi all,

I have used your mapserver packages for quite a while now, thanks!
A related package to your effort is Postgis. Now there is a maintainer for
that package: Alex Bodnaru, but he has not responeded to critical bugs for
over 122 days. I would be glad to become a maintainer for this package but
I do not know if this maintainer actually stopped.
BTW: I'm currently not a developer for debian, but I am a professional
software engineer and have been using debian extensively for years (check
out http://meridian.science.uva.nl/bambas for a sample of my work).
However, I would need a mentor/advocate to help me get started with that.

My questions are these:
Could you check if Alex Bodnaru has in fact stopped?
If so: maybe you would consider taking postgis over yourself?
If not: maybe you would be willing to help me to become a maintainer for
this package?
