Initial Comment:
I installed libgdal1-1.3.2-dev package (version 1.3.2-2) and found, that gdal-config --prefix points to /tmp/buildd/... As gdal-config --prefix is used by other gdal dependant apps (like gdal-grass), they got screwd up. I installed gdal-grass from source and was wondering why it doesn't work. It was not working just because gdal was in /usr, but gdal-config --prefix was reporting /tmp/buildd....
