Hello Christoph,
I'm setting severity to minor -- this is a use-case I've rarely seen, and
doesn't really affect JOSM's usability.

Why can't you do Alt+F2 → josm ? :)
Or, if you want to close the shell, why not clicking the icon? ;)
Seriously, I tried this with liferea and okular too, and it works as you say.

Ok, I see.
I can't really say what's going wrong, nor where to start looking from.
I'll try some googling as soon as I have a bit more time.
