What does that mean? As I said, -4 and -3.1 are *identical*.
$ debdiff /srv/ftp-master.debian.org/ftp/pool/main/q/qgis/qgis-plugin-grass_1.4.0+12730-{3.1,4}_i386.deb
File lists identical (after any substitutions)
Control files: lines which differ (wdiff format)
------------------------------------------------
Depends: qgis (= [-1.4.0+12730-3.1),-] {+1.4.0+12730-4),+} qgis-plugin-grass-common (= [-1.4.0+12730-3.1),-] {+1.4.0+12730-4),+} libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6~), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libgdal1-1.6.0, libgeos-c1 (>= 3.2.0), libproj0, libqgis1.4.0, libqt4-network (>= 4:4.5.3), libqt4-svg (>= 4:4.5.3), libqt4-xml (>= 4:4.5.3), libqtcore4 (>= 4:4.6.1), libqtgui4 (>= 4:4.5.3), libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1), libgdal1-1.6.0-grass, grass640+42329
Installed-Size: [-2408-] {+2366+}
Version: [-1.4.0+12730-3.1-] {+1.4.0+12730-4+}
So whatever you meant by that ABI comment, either it's not fixed or -3.1
was fine.
Cheers,
Julien
