Justification: renders package unusable
I open gnome-terminal, then type:
$ grass
the following appears automaticaly:

in that moment, the output in gnome-terminal stops. then appears a dialog
window with this text:
Unable to get current geographic extent. Force quiting wxGUI. Please run
manually g.region to fix the problem.
when I click OK in the dialog window, all the grass windows closes and appears
this in the grass prompt inside gnome-terminal:

Maybe that problem relates with bug 617240 and bug 619175
