I hope you are aware of the current build failure on ia64:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=grass&arch=ia64&ver=6.4.3-2&stamp=1380196645
which prevents the migration of grass to testing.

I will try to look into it, but the experience of grass maintainers
might be a lot more useful than my eyes.
