We're coordinating the pktools update in the context of the libLAS 1.8.0
update. Refer to the thread on debian-gis@ for more info:

Ideally we fix some more lintian issues before uploading a new pktools
package, but that requires splitting out the libraries into their own
binary packages and adding symbols for them. That's a bit of an invasive
change that Francesco may not be happy with.
